After a renovation, which was aimed at preserving the authenticity of the object, a permanent exhibition dedicated to the lives and work of Josef and František Seidel was installed. Museum Fotoatelier Seidel was opened on the 6th June 2008.
The house of "the Photographer of Šumava" Josef Seidl with a unique studio in Linecká Street attracts visitors to exhibition of unique historical images and significantly preserved technical equipment of the photo studio. The Photo studio Seidel is a unique opportunity for creating a cultural project of global importance.
Museum aims to present the work in the context of the time period and to explain the significance of this extensive work with regard to its monotonous geographical theme, as well as the orderliness in the time span from the 80s of the 19th century until the mid-twentieth century. This orderliness created a chronicle of this region that has been for centuries a common home to the Czechs, Austrians and Germans.
